Regarding the case of the arrest of former National Security Agency (ANB) officer Duško Golubović, let the investigation reveal everything, and I would personally praise the work of both the Special Police Department (SPO) and the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), said Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević during an appearance on Aplus Television.
"It's good that justice is knocking on all doors. Whether it's my door or Duško Golubović's or any person for whom there are certain suspicions," said Gorčević.
"Vijesti" announced today that in the investigation launched against Golubović for money laundering, SPO officers seized documentation from the Podgorica-based travel agency "Grand" two days ago, whose owner is Sreten Kankaraš, who is close to Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and his Europe Now Movement (PES).
"Vijesti" was told by several sources from the political and security sectors that investigators were interested in Golubović's travel arrangements, as well as the agency's documentation on renting the house of a former employee of the National Security Agency and the Police Directorate.
Gorčević said on the show "Last Sunday" that she "thinks that Kankaraš is related to the prime minister."
"However, Kankaraš is not a high-ranking official of the Europe Now Movement," claims Gorčević.
She also said that she "doesn't really understand family relationships."
"These family connections and the highlighting of these connections in the media were trying to do great damage to the prime minister," said Gorčević.
The minister claims that Kankaraš is not a member of any PES governing body, but that he is close to the movement.
"I know Kankaraš personally. His travel agency is very serious and we should not draw premature conclusions, especially if we take into account the presumption of innocence. Let the investigation show where Golubović traveled," said Gorčević.
When asked by a journalist whether it was true that there was an argument at last night's PES Main Board, Gorčević replied that she did not have time to attend the Main Board (GB) due to business obligations.
"I wasn't in Podgorica, so I was late for the GO session. It was an inter-party meeting, which did not have any specific conclusions. There was a discussion," concluded Gorčević.
