Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović announced this morning that he congratulated Nikušor Danu on his election as President of Romania.
"Montenegro and Romania share a long-standing partnership based on mutual respect and friendship, regional stability, NATO membership and European values. I look forward to working with you to further strengthen our bilateral relations, as well as Romania's support for Montenegro's membership in the European Union (EU)," Milatović wrote on the social network X.
Bucharest Mayor Nicos Dan, a centrist, won Romania's presidential election on Sunday over his rival Gheorghe Simion, a right-wing nationalist inspired by the policies of US President Donald Trump.
