The civic movement "Idemooo!" remains with the same task of correcting the government, as it was throughout the election campaign. With 4,6% of the votes won and one councilor mandate, we have an obligation to our voters not to disappoint them as a member of the municipal assembly, and to strive with our future work to ensure that the truth is heard on every important topic that concerns the municipality and citizens, said the president of this movement, Olivera Doklestić.
Also, she added, since various complaints have already begun to be received about the work and functioning of various municipal activities and the situation in the municipality, it will be necessary to maintain the office in order to strengthen communication with citizens.
""We know each other by our deeds", and with them, the Novska Lista, won dominantly in all electoral districts. Out of the total number of voters, 13, 25603% turned out for the elections on April 50,3. In the city itself, Herceg Novi, the turnout was 48% of 932 voters. On the Savina River: the total turnout was 44% of 1751 voters. The civic movement "Idemooo!" has just received the greatest support in these electoral districts, where 8,3% of voters have shown their trust in it. The fact of the extremely low turnout is worrying.
The turnout on the Riviera was not much better either. Only 43% turned out in Kamenari, 44% in Đenovići, 51% in Kumbor, and only 25% in the Luštica constituency. In Topla, in six constituencies, the turnout was 51% of 3929 voters, and in constituencies 4 and 6 only 46 and 47%. If Topla was considered a stronghold of the Nova List and the Democrats, then what is happening with the mood of the voters here? In Igalo, voting was held in 8 constituencies, and the turnout was: 53%, 53%, 50%, 54%, 51%, 55%, 51% and 49% of a total of 5006 voters, while in Meljine that percentage was 52% and 51% of a total of 931 voters. "These numbers should mean that something is not working well and that the elections reflect the great dissatisfaction of citizens but also the feeling that nothing can be changed with their vote," said Doklestić.
She pointed out that the Civic Movement "Idemooo!" is completely independent, mostly made up of laypeople and politicians with knowledge of administrative rules, and that is why it is going through serious organizational difficulties.
"In a political sense, we will support every good idea, decision and solution for the city, and we will be against every decision, report or solution that is detrimental to citizens, especially in the field of financial policy. This means that we do not want to be part of any large coalition, because such a political idea is only good for the government but not for the municipality. We value opposing opinions and different positions because this is the basis of the democratic system and the basis of parliamentarism.
"It would be best for our municipality to have a balanced relationship between the government and the opposition for each item on the agenda, rather than the government being bunkered down in a significant preponderance of councilors, who become part of the voting mechanism. Only with such a close relationship in the assembly would we come to the right solutions in the unity of opposites, while respecting the principles of freedom of speech, expression, and knowledge, and thus we would truly fight corruption and for quality," she said.
Doklestić said that her movement will have to leave the office at the Post Office in early June for financial reasons, but that she hopes that they will be able to find new space.
"It also remains that the basis of the work of the Civic Movement 'Idemooo!' is in environmental activities through the NGO Ecological Society of Boka Kotorska," Doklestić concluded in the statement.
