The authorities in Tivat, by not congratulating the citizens on Independence Day, showed their true colors, said Nikola Došljak, head of the DPS-LP councilors' club and vice-president of the Tivat committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists.

"We all know that two days ago, on May 21, 19 years were celebrated since the restoration of Montenegrin independence. Independence Day is certainly one of the most important dates in the history of Montenegro, which is celebrated with special emotion. No political entity that is a factor in the current government in our city has sent an official greeting on the occasion of Independence Day," Došljak said.

He reminds that the government in Tivat is held by: the People Wins list, Democrats, Democratic Serbian Party, Europe Now Movement, New Serbian Democracy, Democratic People's Party, Krtoljska Lista, Tivat Action and Goran Božović, as well as the former councilor of the Bokek Forum.

"'A big thank you' especially for this NON-congratulation on Independence Day to the President of the Municipality of Tivat, the President of the Municipal Assembly, as well as the Vice President of the Municipality, which once again showed how much they truly love this country. The aforementioned people actually don't even need to love this country, but they must respect its symbols and such holidays, considering that they are currently in the most important positions in the governance of a city in Montenegro," said Došljak.

He asked whether, with this move, they had to follow "their essential leader" Andrija Mandić, who did the same as the president of the state parliament.

"This is another in a series of moves by the current government of our city, which has shown its true face to our fellow citizens. Gentlemen, functions are temporary, but deeds remain. That Montenegro is eternal," he announced.
