At today's session of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly (MA), the mandates of the new councilors were confirmed, but the president of the MA was not elected.
The Assembly is considered constituted by the election of the President.
The previous mayor, Marko Kovačević, requested a break, and then an adjournment of the session, in order to sign a coalition agreement with the new government constituents.
Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) councilor Rajko Perović requested that the interruption not last longer than 24 hours.
He also demanded answers about who had been managing the municipality since May 10, when Kovačević's mandate ended, who had been signing documents and making decisions.
In the local elections held in Nikšić on April 13, the coalition For the Future of Nikšić (ZBNK) led by Kovačević won 15 seats, the Europe Now Movement (PES) five, and the Democrats-Plenum 083 coalition three seats.
These three coalitions/parties will form the government in the city under Trebjes.
The most councilor mandates in the town under Trebjes were won by DPS, 16, and the European Union also won parliamentary status, receiving two councilor mandates.
The other five parties/lists that participated in the elections did not pass the threshold.
Today's session was chaired by the oldest councilor, Miodrag-Dragan Nikolić from DPS.
The session is scheduled to continue on Monday, July 2nd.
The leader of the list For the Future of Nikšić (ZBNK), Marko Kovačević, told reporters after the break at the Nikšić Municipal Assembly that the future constituents of the government had agreed that the Mayor would be from the coalition he led, the Mayor from the Europe Now Movement (PES), and the Vice-President of the Municipality from Democratic Montenegro.
