Attempts to present the legitimate and transparent actions of the Anti-Corruption Committee as political influence represent a poor substitution of theses and another attempt to conceal real problems within the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), said CIVIS MP Maja Vučelić.
She pointed out that today's Board session was not interrupted due to political pressure on the ASK Council, as the opposition wants to present, but was postponed for several legitimate reasons.
"First of all, the members of the Committee requested a hearing of the members of the ASK Council so that they, as the competent parliamentary body, could inform us in detail about the reasons for the current crisis in the work of the Agency.
"I believe that there is no point in considering the ASK quarterly report for 2025 until the acting director of the Agency, Mr. Dušan Drakić, is present to answer key questions," Vučelić explained in a post on the Iks network.
She added that she also considers it extremely important to publicly state who the member of the ASK Council is and why he requested the annulment of the Agency's decision regarding Milo Đukanović, which, she says, Drakić also talked about.
"If we're talking about pressure and illegal influence, let the public know who's actually exerting it," Vučelić said.
