"Vojislavljevića Street is deserted. No workers, no machines, no indication that the reconstruction of the street worth more than 22 million euros was officially 'started' almost a month ago," said Miloš Mašković, president of the European Union Councilors' Club in the Capital City Assembly.
Although cameras recorded the speeches of the prime minister and mayor on May 12th, what citizens are seeing on the ground today has nothing to do with the promises, he said.
"The expropriation has only been completed for the first kilometer of the route, which already calls into question the reality of the announced dynamics and the planned deadline of 18 months. The street that chokes traffic in Zabjelo is just another infrastructure project being used for PR purposes, and not for actually solving citizens' problems," Mašković stated in a post on Iks.
He said that he fears that citizens will continue to suffocate in the dust for a long time due to bad PR that is trying to compensate for the complete lack of results.
"If this is how a 'priority' is planned and implemented, what do things that are not a priority look like?" he asked.
