Former Prime Minister and leader of the Party of European Progress (SEP), Duško Marković, said that the former Prime Minister, the state and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Milo Đukanović, and he are "acquaintances and former friends".
He said this while appearing on the show "Slobodna zona" on Television Prva, whose author and host is journalist Dražen Živković.
Marković recalled that in 1991 he came from Mojkovac, where he was the mayor, to Podgorica and for eight years was the Secretary General in the Government headed by Đukanović, but that he did not accept to remain in that position after Filip Vujanović became prime minister, but instead became an MP.
As he added, he headed the State Security Service and the National Security Agency during Đukanović's term as President of the State and then the Government, and after that he held the positions of Minister and then Prime Minister.
"During that period, there was not a single situation in which he asked me for anything that conflicted with my professional and institutional position, or even my personal relationship," he pointed out.
Marković said that he participated in Đukanović's campaign for the 2023 presidential elections, and that shortly after that he started forming his own party, and that the need for them to have contacts had ceased.
When asked by Živković what their relationship is today, the SEP leader replied that they are "acquaintances and former friends."
"We don't have intensive communication," Marković pointed out.
