The proposal by the President of the Socialist People's Party (SNP), Vladimir Joković, to submit to the Main Board the dissolution of the Municipal Board of the SNP Herceg Novi for decision represents the latest act of political weakness and an attempt to escape personal responsibility, said the President of the Municipal Board (OO) of the SNP Herceg Novi, Milan Jančić.

As he said, the result achieved by the SNP in the local elections on April 13 in Herceg Novi, although unsatisfactory, is not the product of the work of a single committee, but rather of years of political neglect, lack of vision, authoritarian leadership and the collapse of the SNP's reputation in the public - which are direct consequences of the policies led personally by Vladimir Joković.
"A party that remains silent about scandals, that does not offer solutions in times of serious political and social change, that agrees to be a political appendage of larger parties – is doomed to the margins. The local board cannot be held responsible for the decline in support for a party whose president has been avoiding communication with the membership and citizens for months, does not run campaigns, does not gather people, nor shows energy worthy of a leadership position. The SNP in Herceg Novi did not have the resources, did not have support, did not even have basic messages from the headquarters. And now – when it is time to take responsibility – Joković is beheading everyone except himself," Jančić pointed out.
According to him, it is particularly symptomatic that no other SNP municipal committee, which also achieved poor results in the parliamentary, presidential or local elections, has been dissolved.
"Why only Herceg Novi? Why didn't the president appoint a coordinator to lead the campaign like he did in other cities and leave the Herceg Novi committee without support? It is now clear to everyone that Vladimir Joković, through his personal relationship with individual municipal committees, but also with individuals within the party, is directly undermining the unity of the SNP. I believe it is a shame to argue with the party in this way and divide it at a time when we need composure, solidarity and faith in our own strength," Jančić added.
He said he was certain that this time – like many times before – Joković would remain in the minority.
"It is clear to anyone who knows the spirit of the Socialist People's Party well, the party of honorable and honest people, that this attempt by Joković to secure a majority before the upcoming Congress through intra-party squabbles will not succeed," said Jančić.
He pointed out that they, from the Municipal Board, stand behind every move, every word they uttered in front of the citizens, and every meeting they had in the field.
"We would do the same today - because we do not make compromises that offend our voters. I also want to inform the public that at the Main Board session last week, Joković stated to me in front of all members that I should think about why I did not have a coalition and why no one wanted to run with me in the elections. I would ask President Joković, who carried the list for the previous parliamentary elections, when we barely passed the threshold, why no one wanted to run with him. He assured us then that we had to go with traditional coalition partners and that this was certain. In the end, Demos came and thank him. We won 3,1 percent," he said.
"Finally, I want to make it clear: the SNP can change committees, but until it changes itself and the president who avoids responsibility - it has no future. The Herceg Novi committee is a committee of quality, young, educated and honest people," concluded Jančić.
