These are proposals for which I expect the support of all MPs in the Parliament, regardless of whether they are in power or opposition, said the head of the URA parliamentary group, Miloš Konatar, on the occasion of the fact that the Legislative Committee of the Parliament supported the amendments proposed by him and URA MP, Filip Adžić.
Konatar said that this corrects the injustice towards former workers of the textile and leather industry in Montenegro.
"The proposal provides for fair compensation for workers who, due to the introduction of bankruptcy in unfortunate 'transit' times, lost their jobs or received reduced pensions due to early retirement and who were left without funds from social programs," he said.
He pointed out that in 2021, the Civic Movement URA, as part of the government, helped former workers in the metal processing and mining industries and that now it is the turn to help those from the wood processing, forestry, textile and leather industries.
"These are proposals for which I expect the support of all MPs in the Parliament, regardless of whether they are in power or opposition. Tomorrow our proposal will be at the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget, and after that at the plenary session of the Parliament itself. I hope for good news for disenfranchised workers, now it's all up to the MPs," concluded Konatar.
