The Main Board (GO) of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) at today's electronic session dissolved the Municipal Board (OO) of SNP Herceg Novi and voted no confidence and dismissed Radisav Nikić from all positions in the party. As announced by the SNP, over 75 percent of the GO members voted in favor of these decisions.
"With today's decision, the Municipal Board of the SNP Herceg Novi has been dissolved, with the assessment that the work of that board so far has not been in line with the policies and values that the SNP CG cherishes, which was particularly reflected in the latest results in the local elections, where the SNP did not achieve parliamentary status in this municipality for the first time.
"Also, the Main Board voted no confidence and dismissed Radisav Nikić from all positions in the Socialist People's Party of Montenegro, because he grossly violated the democratic principles on which the activities of the SNP CG are based," the SNP statement said.
It is added that Nikić, through his public appearances, presented unverified and untrue information, compromised party officials and damaged its reputation in public, which represents a gross violation of the party's statute.
"The SNP remains consistent in preserving internal party discipline, transparency and accountability of all its members, and will continue to react decisively to any behavior that deviates from the basic principles of the party's operations," the statement concludes.
