Adžović – Sattler: Cooperation with the EU is of great importance for the implementation of numerous infrastructure projects

Cooperation between the Ministry of Public Works and the Delegation of the European Union will be of great importance for the successful implementation of infrastructure projects, but also for the achievement of the overall reform goals that Montenegro has in the European integration process, it was announced at the meeting between the Minister of Public Works, Majda Adžović, and the Ambassador of the European Union to Montenegro, Johan Satler.

As announced by the relevant ministry, Adžović introduced Satler to the key goals and responsibilities of the Ministry of Public Works, emphasizing its central role in the implementation of infrastructure projects of strategic importance.

"She emphasized the Ministry's commitment to accelerating the construction and reconstruction of transport infrastructure, improving connectivity both within the country and with the neighborhood and the rest of the continent, which also contributes to strengthening the conditions for economic growth and development," the statement said.

It is added that, during the conversation, Sattler expressed satisfaction with Montenegro's progress so far on its path to membership in the European Union, but also stressed the importance of further accelerating reform processes.

He particularly emphasized that all activities undertaken in the implementation of infrastructure projects must be fully aligned with European standards and norms, or rather the strategic commitment of Montenegro to be the first next member of the EU.

"The Ambassador emphasized that on this path, including the diversification of the economy, Montenegro and the Ministry itself can expect the necessary expert support. The interlocutors agreed that cooperation between the Ministry of Public Works and the Delegation of the European Union will be of great importance for the successful implementation of infrastructure projects, but also for the achievement of the overall reform goals that Montenegro has in the process of European integration," the Ministry of Public Works concluded in a statement.
