The Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget unanimously supported amendments to the law proposed by deputies of the Civic Movement URA, which provide for compensation for former employees in the textile and leather industry.
The amendments to the law were proposed by URA MPs Filip Adžić and Miloš Konatar, and they provide for compensation for former employees in the textile and leather industry, who lost their jobs and full pensions due to the bankruptcy of the state-owned companies in which they worked.
"All that remains is a vote at the plenary session of the Parliament and we expect support from all MPs, both the government and the opposition," the URA statement said.
The party said that in 2021, as part of the government, they helped former workers in the metal processing and mining industries, and now it is time to right the wrong and help those in the wood processing, forestry, textile, and leather industries.
