The Government of Montenegro decided today, during a telephone session, to impose sanctions on Belarus due to the situation in that country and Belarus' involvement in Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
"On June 16, 2025, at a telephone session, based on the consent of the majority of members, the Government adopted a Decision on the introduction of international restrictive measures established by decisions of the Council of the European Union and regulations of the European Union regarding the situation in the Republic of Belarus and the involvement of the Republic of Belarus in the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the Government statement states.
The statement added that the Government also adopted a Decision on Amendments to the Statute of the Limited Liability Company "Regional Diving Center for Underwater Demining and Diver Training" from Podgorica.
"Within the framework of personnel issues, the Government has adopted a Decision appointing Lazar Šćepanović as Acting Director of the Police Administration," the statement reads.
