Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) MP Aleksandra Vuković Kuč said that she will demand a suspension of the Parliament if it is true that the Government will not make a decision on the enrollment of freshmen at the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature (FCJK) in Cetinje for the 2025/2026 academic year.
She said this at a parliamentary session, where MPs asked questions to Finance Minister Novica Vuković.
"Minister, I have to react... I ask you to answer us whether a decision has been made by the Government. Because if so, such a decision would not only be Greater Serbian and anti-Montenegrin, anti-European... Not only would it be an attack on free opinion, not only would it be a scandalous response to what was yesterday's European Parliament report on the glorification of war criminals, while those who glorify them are financed from the budget of Montenegro," she said.
"Is it true, Minister, that the Government agreed to naked fascism, to Nazism, to the worst that did not even happen in Germany in 1939? If the answer is yes, we must have an answer and we will demand the suspension of the Parliament. We will not allow either 1939 or 1941," added Vuković Kuč.
The minister did not react to her claims, but instead responded to a question from her party colleague Aleksandra Despotović, who had asked the question before her.
After that, Speaker Zdenka Popović gave a break, after which DPS MP Oskar Huter again emphasized that she had to admonish the minister for not providing an answer.
Vuković recalled that the session began at 11 am, and that he was already in parliament at that moment.
"You're asking me for an answer from today's government session, I've been sitting here for three hours. Do you want me to send a message and ask what happened? I'm not an SMS minister. The work of the government is transparent and it will inform about its conclusions," he said.
DPS MP Nikola Rakočević assessed that the Government had established the FCJK and requested a break until answers were received, which Popović approved.
After a break, Vuković said that money has been allocated for financing freshmen by the Budget Law.
Vuković Kuč asked whether the allegations that what was written in the media was not true, and that the Government session was not held due to a lack of quorum, were true.
"We see this as a sinister reshuffle policy," she pointed out, adding that enrollment begins next week.
The Minister responded that he could not give an answer about what was happening in the Government and reiterated that the funds had been earmarked.
