The international naval military exercise "Adrion Livex 25", which is being implemented within the framework of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, began today in the waters of the Port of Bar.
The host of this year's exercise is the Army of Montenegro, and the navies of the signatory countries of the initiative - Albania, Greece, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia - are also participating.
As announced by the Ministry of Defense, on the first day of the exercise, special attention was paid to conducting "boarding" operations, i.e. the control and inspection of vessels with the aim of improving the capabilities of naval forces to implement international law and protect maritime security.
"Vessels and aircraft of the armed forces of the participating countries will have a series of activities at sea in the coming days, aimed at strengthening interoperability and a joint response to security challenges in the Adriatic-Ionian region. Additional maritime and joint operations are planned, as well as a series of bilateral and multilateral meetings of the participants. The final phase of the exercise is planned for June 27, when the end of 'Adrion Livex 25' will be celebrated," the statement reads.
