President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, with his wife Milena, attended a ceremonial reception hosted by King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia at the Alcazar Palace in Seville, the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro announced today.
The statement added that during the reception, Milatović had separate talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and the presidents of Kenya William Rutte, Ecuadorian Daniel Nobo, and Armenian Vahan Khachaturian.
"The reception was held on the eve of the UN Conference on Financing for Development, which President Milatović is participating in today, along with more than 70 heads of state and government, as well as representatives of international financial institutions, civil society and the private sector," the statement said.
The Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro said that in his address at the plenary session of the Conference, Milatović will speak about key challenges and priorities in the field of sustainable development, from the perspective of Montenegro as a small and open economy in the process of accession to the European Union (EU).
"President Milatović's participation in this high-level gathering represents an important opportunity for the affirmation of Montenegro as a responsible and constructive partner on the international scene and within the United Nations system, as well as for presenting the results of our country on its path towards fulfilling the UN Sustainable Development Goals," reads a statement from the Public Relations Office of the President of Montenegro.
