Former executive director of the Pljevlja Coal Mine (RUP) Milan Lekić is the new New Serbian Democracy (NSD) MP in the state parliament.

The State Election Commission (SEC) today confirmed his parliamentary mandate and sent a letter to the Parliament to state this.

According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", the currently vacant parliamentary seat was previously rejected by the President of the Board of Directors of the Electric Power Industry of Montenegro (EPCG), Milutin Đukanović, and the President of the Municipality of Mojkovac, Vesko Delić.

Lekić was in tenth place on the "For the Future of Montenegro" list in the 2023 parliamentary elections, and he served as a member of parliament until April last year, when he was appointed to the position of member of the Board of Directors of the RUP.

He was then succeeded in the parliamentary benches by Marko Kovačević, who recently resigned due to the incompatibility of functions, namely because he was re-elected as the President of the Municipality of Nikšić.
