Among the key priorities of our work are the establishment of meritocratic principles, the fight against nepotism, as well as the building of an efficient and transparent public administration that will be fully functional for citizens, announced the president of the Bosniak Democratic Movement (BDP), Sead Šahman.
The BDP announced that Shahman met today in Podgorica with the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Montenegro, Johann Sattler.
The statement added that Shahman briefed Sattler on the key activities that BDP has been carrying out since its establishment last year, as well as the organization's plans in the context of future socio-political challenges.
"He emphasized BDP's commitment to creating an inclusive society based on economic progress, social equality and balanced development of all regions, especially those that are neglected like the north of Montenegro," BDP said.
Šahman added that it is essential to strengthen economic activities in less developed areas, which, he said, would contribute to strengthening the local economy, opening new jobs, and creating conditions for the population to remain in those areas.
"We attach special importance to the rule of law, with an emphasis on respect for human and minority rights. Among the key priorities of our work are the establishment of meritocratic principles, the fight against nepotism, as well as the building of an efficient and transparent public administration that will be fully functional for citizens," said Šahman.
The statement also states that Šahman emphasized "the significant role of the diaspora, which has been actively living and working mainly in Western Europe for decades, and represents strong support for development initiatives in Montenegro."
BDP said that Satler congratulated BDP on its formation and wished it success.
"He expressed the readiness of the European Union Delegation to cooperate with all democratic political actors in Montenegro. He emphasized that Montenegro faces a period of intensive reforms, with electoral legislation reform being one of the key priorities," the BDP said.
The BDP said that the meeting was also attended by one of the BDP founders, Bejto Šahmanović, "who, as one of the protest participants, informed Ambassador Setler about the events in front of the 'Villa Gorica', which was organized on the occasion of the awarding of the Thirteenth of July Award to the writer Bećir Vuković."
