The coalition "For the Future of Budva" announced today that "the authorities in Budva are raiding the depot of the illegally elected MEC (Municipal Election Commission) based on the depot of the High Court."
The coalition said they were calling on the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office (SPO) and the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SPO) "to react urgently and preserve the electoral legislation."
The statement states that the citizens of Budva are victims of unprecedented legal torture, which, according to the coalition "For the Future of Budva", is being carried out by the organized criminal group (OKG) Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), the President of the Municipality of Budva Nikola Jovanović (Budva Our City) and the President of the Budva Municipal Assembly Petar Odžić (SDP, European Alliance).
"Citizens of Montenegro,
Legal violence has been going on in Budva for months, and it is taking on increasingly serious proportions every day. The citizens of Budva, whose representatives we are, are victims of unprecedented legal torture carried out by the OKG DPS, Nikola Jovanović, Petar Odžić. After the Municipal Election Commission (OIK) in Budva was illegally elected by the DPS-SDP-Budva axis, our city, we witness the continuation of legal violence and gross violation of electoral legislation every day. First, they violently took away from us, as the largest coalition, two councilor mandates belonging to the coalition 'For the Future of Budva'. After warnings from the State Election Commission (SEC) that the matter is clear and the OIK has no right to demand changes to the coalition agreement - an unprecedented scandal followed. Now the familiar scenario of the worst criminal circles is being repeated - we are being asked to believe that the Municipal Election Commission's depot was mysteriously broken into and the coalition agreement of the coalition 'For the Future of Budva' was stolen. "The intention of Nikola Jovanović, the SDP and the OKG DPS is to deny us the right to nine council mandates and the right not to allow the electoral will of the citizens of Budva to be rewritten for as long as possible," the coalition "For the Future of Budva" states in a statement.
They added that the Budva ruling coalition reported the staged "case" to the prosecutor's office with the sole intention of not verifying the mandate of the councilor from the "For the Future of Budva" list, which, according to the "For the Future of Budva" coalition, means that the local parliament is functioning with 32 councilors, instead of 33.
"This is an obvious and direct attack on the electoral will of the citizens of Budva, as well as the electoral legislation of Montenegro. The fabricated burglaries of the OIK depot were obviously inspired by the earlier case of burglaries of the Higher Court depot - it would not surprise us if the same criminal structure was behind both cases, whose representatives in Budva are the group of Nikola Jovanović, DPS-SDP. The methods, goals and political instigators of these shameful and criminal acts are, by all accounts, identical. We call on the prosecution - the VDT and SDT to react urgently and finally stand in the way of legal thuggery, when they have not already done so in the case of Jasna Dokić, whom Nikola Jovanović, accompanied by BIL persons, expelled from the Municipality in the early morning hours and took power. The violence in Budva, such as we are witnessing, is not remembered in the recent history of Montenegro, and the greatest victims of this lawlessness are precisely the citizens of Budva," said the coalition "For the Future of Budva".
