A group of citizens organized a gathering today at the gate at the entrance to the Gorica forest park in Podgorica.
The exhibition “The Decline of Montenegro” was also set up.
Dean of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature Aleksandar Radoman said that on July 13th, "Montenegro is divided by sharp lines of demarcation."
"But these are not ethnic lines, as they would like to convince us, but value lines. On one side are those who inherit the freedom struggle of the Montenegrin people, and on the other are the spiritual descendants of Joanikije Lipovac, who the day before July 13th offered a toast to the occupation governor," said Radoman.
In their invitation to the gathering, the organizers said that they do not agree to rewriting the past and forgetting it.
"The fight against fascism is the constant duty of a free man. See you in Gorica," the invitation states.
The European Union (EU) also invited the gathering, stating that they believe in a Montenegro founded on civilizational principles and an anti-fascist heritage.
The gathering was also attended by MPs and officials of the Democratic Party of Socialists.
