The infliction of serious bodily injuries on the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović, is a consequence of the climate created by both the state and local parliaments by those who still cannot come to terms with the fact that they are the political past of Budva, the Municipal Board of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Budva announced.
"Specifically, the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) has been continuously targeting Jovanović, and in light of the threats he was exposed to just a few months ago from criminal structures, for whom it is well known in Budva in whose name and on whose behalf they are acting, it is clear that this morning's brutal attack was not an incident. In conclusion, we call on the competent state authorities to shed light on the case as soon as possible and prosecute the perpetrators of this cowardly act, and to establish security conditions in Budva within which citizens will not be afraid to go out into the streets," the DPS Budva statement reads.
