Budva our city: Jovanović physically attacked by OKG "black three" Andrija Mandić

The political group "Budva Our City" announced that it condemns the attack on the President of the Municipality of Budva, Nikola Jovanović.

"With indignation and deep concern, we inform the public that the President of the Municipality of Budva and a member of the citizens' group 'Budva our city', Nikola Jovanović, who was accompanied by councilor Srđan Pribilović, was brutally physically attacked by the OKG 'black trio' of Andrija Mandić (President of the Parliament of Montenegro and leader of the New Serbian Democracy) - Vidak Mitrović, Jovo Mitrović and Bato Mitrović with the tactical support of scout Željko Zejak. All three are BIL persons according to the SOCTA document of the Police Directorate and are officials of the NSD, a combination of crime and politics. This cowardly act of violence, motivated exclusively by political reasons, represents an attack not only on our president, but also on the foundations of democracy, freedom of expression and political action in our city," the political group said in a statement.

They said that their colleague and friend suffered serious physical injuries.

"We express our full solidarity and unreserved support to him and his family in these difficult times. We expect his speedy recovery and return to daily duties," they said.

The "Budva Our City" group, whose list was led by Jovanović in last year's local elections in Budva, added that this shameful attack must not go unpunished.

"We call on the competent state authorities - the police, the prosecutor's office and the judiciary - to urgently take all legal measures, identify and prosecute the perpetrators, and impose the strictest punishments in accordance with the law. Any delay or attempt to relativize this case will be a direct attack on the legal order and an incentive to further escalate political violence in Montenegro. The Budva Our City citizens' group remains consistent with the principles of non-violent struggle, legality and democratic values. We will not allow fear, threats and physical violence to replace political dialogue and the will of citizens expressed in the elections. This is not just an attack on one man - this is an attack on all of us who believe in a better, freer and more just Budva. Our response will be unity, determination and an even stronger fight for the interests of citizens. Budva will not bow to violence. Justice must be served," the statement from the "Budva Our City" political group concludes.

Jovanović was beaten up this morning in Budva.

He told the police that he was attacked by brothers Jovo and Vidak Mitrović and two other people.
