The session of the Electoral Reform Committee, which was supposed to discuss two electoral laws today, has been postponed until tomorrow, the Parliament announced.
"The decision to postpone was made due to the inability to ensure the presence of the full complement of MPs from the government and opposition, due to previously undertaken obligations and intensive activities within the current parliamentary agenda," a statement published on the Parliament's website states.
Given, as it is added, the importance of the session and the need for all members to actively participate in the consideration of draft election laws, the priority was to ensure the conditions for its full and high-quality holding.
On the agenda of the Committee session are the Draft Amendments to the Law on the Election of Councilors and Representatives, which stipulates that all local elections will be held on one day in 2027.
The Committee members will also consider the Draft Law on Financing Political Entities and Election Campaigns, which proposes increasing budget allocations for the regular work of parliamentary parties to 0,8 percent, instead of the previous 0,5 percent of the current budget.
