Montenegro and Chile are traditionally bound by friendly relations, said Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović, adding that significant potential for strengthening cooperation between the two countries is represented by connecting with the descendants of Montenegrin emigrants in Chile.
As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MVP), he received today a visit from the non-resident Ambassador of Chile, Rodrigo Donos.
Ibrahimović emphasized that Montenegro and Chile are bound by traditionally friendly relations, with mutual interest in their further improvement.
He emphasized Montenegro's commitment to intensifying political dialogue, which would contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in areas of common interest, such as economy, agriculture, tourism and culture.
As stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the conversation, Ibrahimović specifically addressed Montenegro's foreign policy priorities and progress in the accession negotiations process with the European Union.
He emphasized that Montenegro pays attention to regional cooperation and fostering good neighborly relations, which represents a significant contribution to the stability and prosperity of the entire region.
Ibrahimović emphasized that significant potential for strengthening cooperation between the two countries is represented by connecting with the descendants of Montenegrin emigrants in Chile, and that there is room for additional initiatives in this direction.
"The interlocutors assessed that cooperation within multilateral frameworks is very good, which was particularly reflected during joint membership in certain United Nations bodies," the statement said.
Ibrahimović and Donos reportedly expressed their expectation that future activities will further contribute to strengthening overall relations between Montenegro and Chile.
