The Podgorica Basic Prosecutor's Office is investigating a complaint filed by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Zdenka Popović (Democrats) filed almost a month ago against the MP and head of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Danijela Živković, claiming that, after the end of the parliamentary session, he threatened her in the plenary hall that he would "have a huge problem" because she did not allow him to comment on the speech of a member of parliament.
"Vijesti" was told this yesterday by the Podgorica prosecutor's office. Previously, on Tuesday, the Police Directorate told the newspaper that officers from the Podgorica Security Department "undertook official measures and actions" and informed the prosecutor's office of the contents of the report.
"By order of the acting state prosecutor, the formed case files were submitted to the competent prosecutor for assessment and further action," they announced.
In the report, which the editorial team had access to, Popović wrote that after the closing remarks at the session held on July 17, she concluded that the item on the agenda that was being discussed had been concluded. She stated that after that, Živković wanted to comment on the presentation of a parliamentarian “because he was called out in the same (presentation), but that she, “since according to the parliamentary Rules of Procedure he does not have the right to make any comments after the closing remarks,” did not allow him to do so.
The vice president of the highest legislative house claims that Živković then told her: "Zdenka, listen to me carefully, you will have a huge problem, remember that," and that he "repeated that sentence several times in a raised tone."
Živković gave a statement to the police on the same day in his capacity as a citizen, rejecting Popović's claims. According to information from "Vijesti", he told the police that after the MP addressed the session Seid Hadzic, who, he claims, mentioned him several times in his address, asked Popović to speak, but after Hadžić finished speaking, she stated that the session was over.
He stated that he addressed her with the words: "Zdenka, you will have a big problem with me in the future, when you chair sessions, because, in accordance with the procedure, I will always ask you for replies and presentations, all in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro."
