Democrats: Gorjanc Prelević uses Radulović as cannon fodder, to threaten, attack, and smear in her name

Democratic Montenegro accused the executive director of the Human Rights Action (HRA), Tea Gorjanc Prelević, of "using lawyer Veselin Radulović as cannon fodder" and of "threatening, attacking, and slandering" on her behalf.

The party accused Gorjanc Prelević of "opposing vetting in the police and security services, subverting", "sharing" a political and interest agenda with former DPS president Milo Đukanović, "misleading the public", but also of being "ready for dirty deals."

They responded to the HRA executive director who previously said that "the Democrats have taken over the narrative from the DPS" and that they are "ready for personal insults and arrogance from a position of force."

"Finally, the mask has fallen. Tea Gorjanc Prelević has publicly declared herself and admitted that, together with former suspended police officer Veselin Radulović, who was suspended for tire fraud, she formed a group to oppose vetting in the Police Administration and security services. So, there is no more dilemma, all those who have been living for years from a system of courts merged between politics and crime have now openly gathered in the same headquarters, against the process that is finally liberating the institutions," the reaction states.

The Democrats said that Gorjanc Prelević "can hardly pass the spin".

"It is difficult to get past the hoax that you, together with Radulović and the criminal media, are trying to plant, to equate the suspensions of police officers for unauthorized contacts with members of criminal organizations, saboteurs, terrorists, or because they are drug users with the dismissal of primary and secondary school principals. Such a comparison is logically absurd and represents a gross insult to every educational worker in Montenegro. And with that move, you have shown that you do not choose means in an attempt to defend those whose place was in connection with clans, and not in state institutions."

In a statement, Demokrata also claims that Gorjanc Prelević "defended Milivoje Katnić, claiming that his dismissal is a dangerous precedent, that it is political pressure on the Prosecutorial Council, and that the rule of law is threatened."

"The same matrix, the same vocabulary, the same manipulation. And what has turned out today? That this very Katnić is being charged with the most serious crimes. So, by defending him, you defended what he did. Now, by defending the suspended police officers, you are again defending what they did. And you are using the suspended police officer Radulović as cannon fodder, to threaten in your name, to attack in your name, to smear in your name. That is why it is not surprising that Milo Đukanović appointed you to his commission for the control of the Basic Treaty. It is no coincidence that he trusted you. Because only those who share his political and interest agenda could he give such an important task. Today it is clear why. Because you continue to trumpet in his name, you continue to use his terminology, his accusations, his lies and his deceptions. Your political mission is the same as his, to protect the old order, to prevent vetting and to preserve the personnel who served the mafia," the Democrats announced, adding that unlike Đukanović, Gorjanc Prelević is "more perfidious", and that she is allegedly attacking the DPS "whose values ​​you absolutely and completely share, and in whose name you act".

"And that's why we have a grotesque picture today: Tea Gorjanc Prelević, a former member of the Đukanović Commission, and Veselin Radulović, a former suspended police officer dismissed from service for tire fraud, are side by side trying to defend compromised police officers. They are trying to save them from being fired. They are trying to maintain old connections in the police and security services. And that is their goal, to preserve the pillars of a system that has worked for crime for decades, not for the people. And that you are deceiving the public is best evidenced by the verdicts of the competent courts, which clearly confirm that Radulović was suspended for tire fraud. So, that is not our label, that is a judicial fact. We are publicly putting that fact on the table, while you are trying to hide and distort it. But you cannot erase the verdicts."

The Democrats accused Gorjanc Prelević of being "ready to do dirty work to accuse the Democrats of the tragedy in Cetinje."

"And she did what she didn't do in the Medovina case. We know why. Because she is bothered by a party that fights crime. Therefore, Ms. Prelević, let it be clear: you can form groups, you can make statements, you can deceive the public and attack the Democrats, but you will not stop the vetting. You will not stop the cleansing of institutions. And you will not protect those who have served the clans for years. If you thought you would deceive the citizens, you were sorely mistaken. You have come across a party that will not keep quiet about any of your deceptions and that will expose your every lie to the public. And in the end, let everyone know: no one is threatening here except Radulović. And Radulović is threatening everyone who fires compromised police officers, and he is not threatening in his own name, but in the name of those same compromised police officers, and that is why we are demanding an urgent security assessment for the members of the security interference commission," the Democrats announced.
