Selaković at the SNP Congress: Thank you that none of your members supported the attempted color revolution in Serbia

"I truly honestly and openly think that it is rare for a political party to have an idea that it does not change, an ideology that is the path. You have never traded with that. Even when it was a step away from tarnishing your image, you did not," said the Minister of Culture in the Government of Serbia.

The head of the Serbian government and an official of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Nikola Selaković thanked the Socialist People's Party (SNP) for not supporting, as he put it, "an attempted color revolution in Serbia."

Selaković attends the SNP Congress at the Music Center in Podgorica.

"I convey to you the greetings of SNS President Miloš Vučeivć, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, 600.000 SNS members, and thank you for not a single SNP member supporting the attempted color revolution in Serbia," Selaković said.

Protests have been taking place across Serbia for months, organized by students, due to the collapse of a canopy at the Novi Sad railway station, in which 16 people lost their lives.

The canopy collapsed on November 1, 2024. After that, mass protests were organized across Serbia, demanding responsibility for the deaths of 16 people.

"I am honored that today, as a representative of the SNS, I was sent to attend the congress of our sister party. Back in 2010, when we were both in the opposition, Marko Đurić and I participated in the congress at the invitation of Srđan Milić. Ever since I have been following politics, I have personally followed what the SNP was doing in Montenegro. You are not 27 years old, you are older. I truly honestly and openly think that it is rare for a political party to have an idea that it does not change, an ideology that is the path. You have never traded with that. Even when it was a step away from tarnishing your image, you did not," said Selaković.

He added that it was good that the SNP "always knew what your identity was - both national and political."

"You were not ashamed and survived for a whole decade under this name. I am proud that you have friends in the NSD, but also that you have them in the DNP and SNP. There is not a day when we celebrate important moments, including sad ones, without someone from the SNP being with us, and that is most often Vladimir Joković," said Selaković.

The congress participants were also addressed by Uglješa Marković from the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), Stefan Krkobabić from the Party of United Pensioners of Serbia (PUPS), Aleksandar Đurđev, the Serbian League, and Milorad Dodik's advisor Rajko Papović.
