Zirojević: Semi-literate and primitive political figures always resort to some kind of threat when they have no arguments

When they have no arguments for any meaningful discussion, incompetent, semi-literate and primitive political figures always resort to some kind of threat - national, religious or, in this case, which is easiest and most profitable, female threat. But that has not and will not work for me.

This was stated by Nikola Zirojević, a Social Democrat (SD) MP and representative of the European Union, responding to accusations from the Women's Association of the Europe Now Movement (PES) that he has become known for belittling female politicians who do not share his opinion.

"Instead of my colleagues from PES answering the question of a permanent solution at Airports, they are shifting the discussion to the field of their female colleague, who is also affected by the same thing. When Aleksandar Vučić claimed that their minister was 'flickering', they were not heard from. Because after all, the boss is the boss, even when he insults and belittles women.

I have never heard them come to the defense of their colleagues from the opposition. Not when an opposition MP was cursed at by a colleague in the plenary hall, nor when, in that same hall, an opposition MP was physically threatened by a colleague. Because for colleagues from the PES, as well as their coalition partners, women's rights begin and end only where they are. They do not apply to others," Zirojević states in her response>

She adds that this time too, her colleagues from PES believe that it is entirely appropriate for anyone, even a woman, to label members of some government and some political structures as "anti-Christian".

"And when that is answered with facts, then go for it, where is she, she is a woman. Woe to us, all around us are sexists and misogynists who do not allow us to draw targets for them and their families. And finally, regarding something they call 'Balkan primitivism', I tell them to find the same in their ranks. They could start, for example, by thanking the Almighty for the fact that after some medieval rituals it rained, despite the weather forecast that had been announced in advance that indicated it. The roots of primitivism, lack of education and illiteracy, esteemed colleagues, you will find, after all, in your ranks. And there are many examples, I can share them with you," Zirojević says.

The SD MP said that, as far as he is concerned, every actor in the political arena has equal treatment, regardless of religion, nationality, political, sexual, gender or any other designation.

"So, if you don't want to be the subject of ridicule, I suggest you broadcast less nonsense. Because like this, any serious story you're looking for, with you guys like that, makes absolutely no sense," he concluded.
