Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović, who participated in the 20th Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia yesterday and today, said that the European and Euro-Atlantic orientation of the region must be preserved.
During the first day of the Forum, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Ibrahimović met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and the country's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman. The Foreign Ministry said that on that occasion they "further confirmed our commitment to continuing the dialogue" and improving relations with Croatia.
Afterwards, Ibrahimović attended the opening ceremony and held several bilateral meetings.
"At a meeting with the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Florian Hahn, the allied and friendly relations between the two countries were confirmed, as well as the strong alliance in NATO, which is particularly important in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Minister thanked Germany for its continued support for Montenegro's European integration, emphasizing the importance of further engagement through the Berlin Process, as well as the need to intensify economic cooperation and investments," the MFA announced.
During the meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, "the friendly relations between the two countries, based on the shared values of multilateralism, interfaith dialogue and the promotion of tolerance, were highlighted." The possibilities of strengthening ties in the areas of economy and tourism were also discussed, as well as seeking modalities for introducing direct flights.
In a conversation with the President of the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI), Rade Bohinc, the importance of improving cooperation in the field of education and science, through university communication and joint projects, was emphasized.
On the second day, Ibrahimović participated in a working breakfast of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Western Balkans and Croatia and Special Envoys for the Western Balkans, hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon.
The working breakfast was dedicated to regional opportunities and the perspective of European enlargement.
"The European and Euro-Atlantic orientation of the region must be preserved. Strong EU and NATO support in the region is a key prerequisite for the long-term stability and prosperity of our countries," Ibrahimović said, emphasizing that Montenegro remains determined to complete negotiations by the end of 2026 and be ready for EU membership by 2028.

The Bosniak Party, of which Ibrahimović is the president, wrote in a separate statement that tonight, together with the MP and president of the party's board in Bar, Edina Dešić, and the minister and president of the BS board in Bijelo Polje, Ernad Suljević, he will attend a working dinner in Brussels organized by the European People's Party (EPP) with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Parliament, Robert Metsola, and the President of the EPP Group, Manfred Weber.
"This important meeting of the EPP family will be an opportunity to continue strengthening the status of BS in the EPP, as well as for new activities of the BS president and his associates in the process of Montenegro's accession to the EU. We know the way! See you in the EU," the party announced.
