Pejović: The dynamics of the European path are criticized by those who have closed only three chapters

The dynamics of Montenegro's European path are being criticized by those who have closed only three chapters in the negotiations for accession to the European Union, said Boris Pejović, Secretary General of the Europe Now Movement and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament.

He said that all relevant factors for the enlargement process, including European Commissioner Marta Kos, claim that Montenegro is today the country closest to full EU membership.

"However, the fact that the current government has so far closed more negotiation chapters than all previous ones combined does not demotivate certain political parties from the opposition, and analysts and lobbyists close to them, from imposing the impression that it is not as we all conclude based on the exact facts and statements of European officials. Today, the dynamics of the European path are criticized by those who closed only three negotiation chapters while they were in power for several terms, including the period after 2020 and the formation of the 43rd Government, which was formed and supported by the current opposition to allegedly unblock the European path, and we have received complete paralysis of institutions. While on the one hand we have an infantile attempt to relativize reality, on the other hand, Montenegro is expected to close five more negotiation chapters by the end of the year," Pejović announced.
