URA: Spajić and ministers should stop hiding behind party schemes and finally take responsibility

The civic movement URA announced that no one in Montenegro feels safe today, and that it is time for Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and ministers to stop hiding behind party intrigues and finally take responsibility.

"Since the 44th Government took office in October 2023, the security situation has deteriorated sharply to the point that it has become alarming in Montenegro today," the ERO statement said.

The party, led by former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, added that "we witness criminal clashes on Montenegrin streets every day, the burning of vehicles even belonging to senior police officers, and that innocent citizens are not spared from such anomalies."

"It is obvious that in their eyes the state does not exist and that the current situation is precisely the consequence of institutional chaos, the disinterest of the prime minister, the party's hunger for seats, as the sole focus of the current parliamentary majority," ERO states.

According to them, "on the other hand, we are witnessing increasingly frequent and increasingly brutal peer violence in schools, while for this school year the Government has not yet resolved the issue of security guards in educational institutions, as an important mechanism in the prevention of violence, which resulted in an incident in Bar, where a minor was brutally beaten by several peers in front of numerous other children."

"That's why no one in Montenegro feels safe today. It's time for the prime minister and ministers to stop hiding behind party schemes and finally take responsibility, because if they are unable to protect citizens and our children, then they are not worthy of performing those functions," ERO said.
