The Mayor of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, harshly criticized the work of the police, questioning whether there is a police force in the city at all and why they are not taking measures to prevent incidents that undermine the safety and reputation of the environment.
Vranes recalled that eight months have passed since the false bomb threat in the municipal administration building, sent at the moment when the local parliament was voting on the budget.
"To date, the police have not discovered who tried to stop the adoption of the budget and thus hinder the work of the local government," he pointed out.
The mayor stressed that this is not an isolated incident. Over the summer, a municipal police vehicle was set on fire, and the perpetrator was never found. The latest incident involved the stoning of the premises of the Europe Now Movement, a political party that is part of the local and state governments.
"We rightly wonder whether the police will finally find those responsible," Vranes said.
He believes that there will be no serious results as long as the police are run by cadres of the former government (DPS).
He appealed to the police to immediately identify and publicly announce who was responsible for the attack on the PES premises.
"Pljevlja is a city of honest and upright people and we will not tolerate any provocations. No one can stop the development of Pljevlja," concluded the mayor.
