While you were pointlessly wasting energy on dictatorial attempts to discipline opposition councilors, it would have been better if you had first put your own house in order and authoritatively explained to your councilors that "institutions belong to citizens, not political maneuvers", as you beautifully and confidently stated yesterday, the European Union sent a message to the President of the Tivat Parliament, Miljan Marković (NSD), after the session of the Tivat Municipal Assembly (MA) was not held today again due to the lack of a quorum.
"'Enough with this!' You have surely heard about this announcement in 'Trešeta', the famous Italian card game that is part of the tradition, heritage and folklore of our part of the Mediterranean and Boka Kotorska. We have nothing else to say to you on the subject of attempts to discipline and hold opposition councilors accountable for the functioning of institutions when even today, for the umpteenth time in your mandate, you have not managed to gather councilors from your ruling majority to hold a session of the Municipal Assembly," the European Union said in a statement.
That coalition asked Marković whether he finds it funny to lecture the European Union and the opposition about their duties and obligations today, when he is unable to impose them even on the councilors of his own ruling majority.
"Or does an opposition councilor have an obligation to be elected to a working body without consent, while a councilor from the ruling majority has no obligation to come to a session of the Assembly? And let's not even list the number of sessions that were not held due to arguments and disputes within your ranks. Almost none of them were held "without a fiddle" within your ranks, except perhaps the first few at the beginning of your mandate. The position of the Committee for Statute and Regulations, which was even voted on without the presence of members from the opposition ranks, that your proposals on the appointment of council members should be withdrawn from the agenda, clearly shows that we are right in this entire unfortunate story. We asked you to do so publicly a few days ago," the statement states.
The European Union finally admitted that they had made a mistake again.
"Yesterday we told you 'we'll see you and listen at tomorrow's session!' Well, we haven't seen or heard from you, we forgot for a moment that you have a very difficult time convening and gathering your councilors," the statement concludes.
