The non-resident Ambassador of Montenegro to Georgia, Borjanka Simićević, presented her letters of credence to the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, at a ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Tbilisi.
On that occasion, Kavelashvili wished her a successful mandate and expressed his readiness to further deepen friendly relations between Montenegro and Georgia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
"Ambassador Simićević thanked for the warm reception, emphasizing that she will perform the entrusted duty conscientiously and dedicatedly, with the aim of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest," the statement reads.
During her stay in Tbilisi, she held meetings with senior officials of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The focus of the talks was on the common European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the two countries, as well as the significant potential for further development of bilateral relations. Special emphasis was placed on areas such as economy, tourism and culture, and the possibilities of improving contractual cooperation and finalizing existing joint initiatives were also considered. The interlocutors expressed their belief that the upcoming period will bring additional opportunities for intensifying relations between Montenegro and Georgia, in the spirit of mutual respect and understanding," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
