The latest double murder that occurred yesterday in Cetinje is a continuation of a tragic and bloody series that, in the last three years, led to the murder of 34 people and once again confirmed the absolute inability of the security sector to guarantee security for the citizens of the Royal Capital, the Royal Capital's Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Board announced today.
"Yesterday's event also confirmed that the security sector no longer exists and that the Police Directorate (PD) is unable to prevent a crime that the entire public knew could happen, since the person killed was the victim of an attempted murder just 15 days ago. Thus, in a short period of time, a tragic case like the one in Stara Varoš was repeated, when the murderer on the run, after just a few months, completed the job and took the life of the victim he had wounded immediately before," the statement said.
The DPS Prijestonica added that "unfortunately, the current government, instead of humanely acknowledging that they are not capable of dealing with the current situation, continues to repeat trite phrases and political comments, forgetting that the security sector is not a topic for political bickering, but that due to their bigotry and incompetence, citizens are dying on the streets of Montenegro every day."
"Citizens need security, not political marketing. Institutions that are supposed to protect citizens have been turned into silent observers of bloody clashes, and after increasingly frequent liquidations, citizens are in permanent fear for themselves and their families. The DPS Royal Capital Board will continue to insist on the responsibility of all actors in the security sector, because only in this way can we fulfill our obligation to citizens who deserve a dignified life without fear for themselves and their loved ones," the statement reads.
