The statement by the DPS Prijestonica is another desperate pamphlet from a defeated party, said Momčilo Leković, a member of parliament from the Democratic Party of Montenegro, today.
The Prijetonice Committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) announced earlier today, among other things, that yesterday's double murder in Cetinje, confirmed that the security sector no longer exists, and that the Police Directorate (PD) is unable to prevent a crime that the entire public knew could happen, since the person killed was the victim of an attempted murder just 15 days ago.
Leković said that it was "more than obvious" that the statement of the DPS Prijestonica "was not written by members of the local board, but by the brothers Neno and Oskar, who joined forces, hiding behind platitudes about alleged concern for the citizens of the Prijestonica."
"Just like the interpellation against the security sector, written at the behest of the Zvicer, Lazovic and their mafia fraternity. So, nothing new, the same handwriting, the same signature, the same pathetic attempts to weaken what has never been stronger and cleaner today: the security sector," Leković said in a statement.
He added that the youth of Montenegro, especially those from Cetinje, have lived for years without prospects.
"There was no safe and honest job from which one could live with dignity and start a family. That is why, unfortunately, many sought refuge and found it in 'quick and easy' earnings, looking around them at how individuals from criminal structures, under the protection of the authorities, live comfortably and untouchable. You did not leave them many options, except to choose between misery or crime. You made Cetinje, the Royal Capital of Montenegro, a mockery of decay and conflict. You left as many as 120 people of security interest in Cetinje. All the clans and mafia cartels were created during your time. You turned institutions into a service for the underworld. During your rule, there were over 700 murders. In the last term alone and the period from 2016 to 2020, there were 93 murders, of which 42 were in criminal confrontations, with six accidental victims among the victims. The greatest tragedy of your policy is that you stole the dreams of young people. Instead of books, you offered them "Pistols. Instead of dignified work, you offered them quick money through crime. Instead of a future, you left them only grayness," said Leković.
In his words, those times are passing.
"Today, Montenegro has a chance to right your wrongs, to restore hope to the youth, to make Cetinje and every municipality a place where an honest life is possible. That is what we are fighting for, and that is what we will never forgive you for, because you have not only destroyed institutions, you have tried to destroy entire generations. We know that it hurts you that today there is a system that cannot be bought and that will not serve you. That is why you panic, that is why you lie, that is why you whine, but it is all in vain. Montenegro has a stronger and more stable security sector than ever, and no brothers, nor any mafia clan, will control it anymore," Leković stated.
He said that it is even more devastating that the DPS still thinks that the people do not see anything and that they can manipulate forever.
"Citizens know who created the clans, who fed the mafia, who brought institutions to the bottom, who destroyed the state. That is why every attack on the security sector is just a reminder of their own past. Today, they are panicking because what they have built for years, which is the alliance of politics and crime, is collapsing. In the end, it is truly sad to watch how a political party, on paper, in reality becomes an ordinary branch of the mafia. And not in some dark period of the past, but in the 21st century at the gates of Europe. Instead of dealing with politics and citizens, they are busy writing statements and interpellations at the dictation of clans and criminals. However, it is obvious that this is their true measure and a real shame," said Leković.
