Members of the Women's Club of the Parliament of Montenegro have strongly condemned the publication of the personal phone number of MP Aleksandra Vuković Kuč on the social network X.
"Every person has the right to freedom of thought and action, but they also have the right to privacy. No one should assume the right to cross the line and endanger the privacy of another with their actions, and least of all to incite the spread of hatred. We cannot build good if we are blinded by hatred," the Women's Club of the Assembly said in a statement.
They point out that violence on social networks has unfortunately become an everyday occurrence, and is especially pronounced when it comes to women.
"Publishing mocking comments, offensive posts and spreading hate speech, to which women are constantly exposed, must be met with an adequate response from the system. No one who considers it right to endanger the privacy and safety of others with their actions must go unpunished," it was announced.
They called on the competent authorities to react promptly, impose the strictest punishments on the perpetrators in every case, and send a clear message that women are not left to their own devices in the fight to defend their dignity, privacy, and safety.
