In the past few days, only a part of the network of associates of the organized crime group has been arrested, who, posing as patriots, were engaged in creating a parallel system in the state and humiliating its institutions, said the leader of the Civic Movement URA Dritan Abazović, and called for the "anti-mafia law", or the Law on the Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property Gains, to be passed as soon as possible.
"These people who are being prosecuted will sooner or later be released. If they keep the enormous wealth they acquired illegally, they will direct it against Vladimir Novović, Pedja Šuković, Dritan Abazović, Jelena Jovanović, against activists, parties... If the property they acquired is taken away from them, their power will weaken and they will no longer be able to buy people's souls," he said in the podcast "Friday with Dritan".
Abazović repeated what he had said many times before: that the hand of justice would not spare anyone, because the evidence was safe.
The former prime minister welcomed the SDT's action, stating that back in 2022 he personally saw the evidence he received from partner agencies.
"What I saw and received from partner services then is nothing compared to what you will see in the coming period. Only a part of the network of associates of the organized crime group was arrested, and time will show that it was much wider. Even then, I targeted 'Bemax', that is, the two men who run that company, Aco Mijajlović and Ranko Ubović, as the leading people, the top of the pyramid, together with Zoran Lazović and some others. Some of them were prosecuted, and some were not. These people wanted, no matter how much they presented themselves as patriots, to capture the state of Montenegro, and they partially succeeded in doing so," Abazović assessed.
The leader of the GP URA added that these people financed and edited the media, as well as individuals from the University of Montenegro, so that they would say what they were told and attack those they were told.
"They influenced the decisions of the courts and prosecutors, not to mention the police and the ANB. They were significant, if not the most significant, in the economic life of Montenegro and they created a network in which virtually everything depended on them, while the state served only as a front for the pursuit of their business interests. This would not be disputable from the broader aspect of the influence of capital on social and political life, if the first capital they acquired did not come from illegal sources, through cigarette smuggling through the territory of Montenegro. That is why I targeted them in 2022 and that is why I repeat, if the 42nd Government had not collapsed and the 43rd Government had not been formed, the Europol embargo on Montenegro would never have been lifted," Abazović said.
He said that no one from the famous list, which is mentioned in the Parliament of Montenegro, will escape the hand of justice.
"The superfinal means the victory of civic Montenegro and the disclosure of the names of people who presented themselves to us as moral boulders, whether they were university professors, businessmen, analysts, influential NGO activists or people with diplomatic ties. All those who were on the receiving end, mercenaries of organized crime groups, who worked according to dictate and had only one goal, to discredit anyone who tells the truth and wants to oppose it," the leader of the GP URA emphasized.
He said that Vladan Ivanović, the owner of the construction company "Master Inženjering", who was detained yesterday, is part of the same team and is connected to "Bemax" in the construction business.
When asked by a citizen about the German press's writing that Milo Đukanović should be arrested, Abazović replied:
"One must only die. But some people have reasons not to sleep peacefully."
He also said that they were trying to indirectly draw him into their network, that they were following him and trying to discredit him.
"Their problem is that they think that all people are bought or stupid, and that they fall for their tricks. I know who their associates in other institutions are, who was paid to monitor me, who was in charge of bringing me closer to those people who approached me in the previous period, and who are of security interest," added the leader of the URA GP.
Commenting on the acquittal in the "Tunel" affair, Abazović assessed that it was a "cataclysm for the Montenegrin judiciary", because, as he said, a person who later participated in the liquidation in Cetinje was acquitted, as were others who had forged documents or confessed to a crime.
"We will see whether the judiciary is in the service of the Kavač clan or is independent. This is now a fight between those two poles," Abazović believes.
He also assessed that, in addition to vetting, it is necessary to introduce breathalyzer testing in the judiciary.
The leader of the GP URA also commented on the action of selling government bonds to citizens, so that the Government could borrow 50 million euros.
"Since we have to borrow, it is not a bad thing to offer citizens the opportunity to buy bonds, considering that they hold deposits in banks and that, due to better conditions, this will be a good opportunity. It is tragic, however, that we are borrowing again this time for 50 million euros because, if we add to that the two billion that have already been taken, it is clear that these 50 million will not close any budget holes by the end of the year. I expect new borrowing. We can conclude that the Government's economic policy has suffered a complete failure... This is a mirror image of the DPS policy before August 30, 2020," Abazović concluded, reminding that his Government left a surplus in the budget.
