Historian Dragutin Papović said that Europe Now Movement MP Gordan Stojović, in response to his text today, "confused annexation and aggression", but also showed that he was not familiar with historical documents from 1918.
"In his response to my text, the graduate sailor Gordan Stojović got lost and confused annexation and aggression. That's how much he knows about the issue of the violent annexation of Montenegro in 1918 and that's how much he cares about semantics. Instead of explaining why he initiated an unscientific revision of historical facts, he turned the story to party ratings and police actions," Papović wrote in a statement released to the media by the Democratic Party of Socialists.
He says that Stojović is trying in vain and that he is clearly avoiding the topic because he has no arguments.
"He has shown that he does not know the historical documents from 1918, nor the entire collection of the most important historical sources called 'The Role of France in the Forcible Annexation of Montenegro'. Ignorance is understandable, but after such a reaction it is certain that Stojović did not use the term 'forcible annexation' due to ignorance or linguistic pedantry, but because historical truth prevents him from smoothly moving into the Bjelaško-Chetnik camp. This fog-work cannot hide the fact that Stojović, like the entire PES, transferred to the ideological camp of Adrija Mandić and joined those who celebrate the so-called Podgorica Assembly. That is the essence of the quasi-historical revision carried out by the sailor Stojović and the manager Pižurica," said Papović.
