President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović sent a letter to members of the Parliament of Montenegro, inviting them to consult on the proposal of Mirjana Vučinić for a judge of the Constitutional Court.

"At the session of the Parliament of Montenegro held on 14 October 2025, the proposal for the election of Ms. Mirjana Vučinić as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, which I submitted on 15 May 2025, was considered. In the first round of voting, Ms. Vučinić received 16 votes in favor, no votes against and 44 abstentions. I believe that, ahead of the next vote, it is useful for all MPs to have the opportunity to further examine her professional path, experience and approach to issues of importance to the work of the Constitutional Court," said Milatović.

He therefore, he added, decided to initiate additional consultations with all interested MPs and parliamentary groups.

"Ms. Mirjana Vučinić will also be present at these meetings, and she will directly present her professional engagement and view of the role of the Constitutional Court in strengthening constitutionality and the rule of law," the President of the state stated.

Milatović stated that he is convinced that an open and constructive dialogue with MPs will contribute to a more complete consideration of the candidacy, and that he believes that Vučinić, with her experience and integrity, can be a candidate around whom a broad degree of agreement can be achieved in the Parliament of Montenegro.

"As always, I am ready for dialogue and joint work in the interests of Montenegro," Milatović's letter states.
