France remains a reliable partner of Montenegro and a true ally on the path to membership in the European Union, said French President Emmanuel Macron.
Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović is participating in the Paris Peace Forum at the invitation of Macron. Together with his wife Milena, he attended the reception hosted by Macron and his wife Brigitte at the Elysee Palace.
"During the meeting, President Macron highlighted France's strong support for Montenegro's path towards membership in the European Union, emphasizing that France remains a reliable partner and true ally in achieving that goal," Milatović's office announced.
The President of Montenegro said that our country remains committed to the European path and that France's support is of great importance.
"France is a strong voice of support for Montenegro and an important partner at a time when we want to accelerate reform processes and confirm that Montenegro can be the first member of the European Union by 2028," said Milatović.
The two presidents, as announced, have agreed on Macron's visit to Montenegro next year, which will also be the first official visit by a French president to our country.
