Gorčević: Proof that our path towards the EU is yielding results and that Montenegro is deservedly building credibility and trust in Brussels

Work, dedication and responsibility bring results. In this year's report, the European Commission (EC) clearly recognized the progress of Montenegro - a country that is consistently and decisively building a European future. For the first time, in the Enlargement Package communiqué, Brussels set a clear timeframe for Montenegro to join the EU, which shows that we are a concrete example of successful reform and a leader in the region.

This was emphasized by the Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević in a post on Iksu, referring to the EC's annual report on Montenegro's progress on its path to the EU.

He said that Montenegro has secured democratic and stable institutions, achieved visible results in the fight against corruption, and developed a pluralistic, free media environment - which means that our democratic system is maturing and strengthening every day.

"I am proud of the team that works professionally and dedicatedly every day to translate European standards into reality. This is proof that our path towards the EU is yielding results and that Montenegro is deservedly building credibility and trust in Brussels. Our goal is clear: full membership in the EU, as an equal partner and leader in the region," concluded Gorčević.
