We in the Parliament are fighting for every child, we are not fighting for the children of URA officials, we are fighting for workers who may vote for us the least, but that is not important to us, but for them to feel that the state stands behind them, we are fighting for young married couples, said the president of the URA Civic Movement, Dritan Abazović.
The Civic Movement URA announced that at the IV Congress of the Danilovgrad URA held last night, a new leadership of the party at the local level was elected, as well as a new composition of the municipal board.
"Aleksandar Šaranović was re-elected as the party president in Danilovgrad, while Dejan Vojvodić, Suzana Prelević, Miloš Popović and Danilo Đurović were elected as vice-presidents. Also, in addition to the aforementioned, the new composition of the Municipal Board of URA Danilovgrad consists of: Jovanka Popović, Nada Ćeranić, Ivan Šaranović, Radomir Prelević, Nikola Vuković, Biljana Raspopović, Siniša Marković, Milisav Ćeranić, Aleksandar Janković, Andreja Popović, Marina Iković, Predrag Perović, Sandra Prelević, Sanja Todorović, Dragana Vukašević, Aleksandra Ristov, Dragoljub Šaranović, Slavko Burić, Marija Radeč, Nenad Prelević, Nikola Stanišić, Nenad Radulović, Nikolina Brajović, Radoje Perović, Rajko Radulović and Krsto Kovačević," the statement reads.
The statement states that Abazović congratulated all those elected and wished them luck in their future work, emphasizing that URA needs to gather strength and close ranks throughout Montenegro, as well as in Danilovgrad, and to believe in victory, to believe that August 30th will happen again, which would not have happened if it were not for URA.
"If it weren't for URE, the fight against corruption and organized crime would not have made sense. If it weren't for URE, some historical issues that burdened this society would not have been resolved. We led the only government that did not owe the state a single euro, the only one that left a surplus of 204 million in the treasury, which returned state property - from the Steel Plant to the ferry, shares in the Port of Bar, the Saltworks. We did all that and much more in just a year and a half. Now we have a situation where all parties participating in political life have been in power for a shorter or longer period of time and we need to compare the results," said Abazović.
Abazović said that those who care about nationalism have their options, those who care about the collapse of institutions and the humiliation of the state of Montenegro have options, those who care about personal enrichment contrary to the law have options, and those who care about justice, a civic state, those who care about a truly ecological, European, honest, courageous and principled story, have only one political option, and that is the Civic Movement URA.
"In the Parliament, we are fighting for every child, we are not fighting for the children of URA officials, we are fighting for workers who may vote for us the least, but that is not important to us, but for them to feel that the state stands behind them, we are fighting for young married couples. If the anti-mafia law were adopted, which has so far been rejected ten times by the government's deputies in the Parliament, if we had adopted it earlier when URA proposed it, we would have over 150 million now in the ownership of the state that we could have invested in the development of healthcare, education, improving the work of the SDT and the police, for infrastructure, development, and for a roof over the head for numerous families," said Abazović.
In his speech after the election for party president in Danilovgrad, Šaranović thanked the delegates for the election, emphasizing that it was a great honor for him to be at the head of a team that has the vision, knowledge, and energy to make Danilovgrad a better place to live.
"The main goal of this committee is to be the most important factor in constituting the government in Danilovgrad in the elections that are in a year and a half, and our exclusive goal has always been the prosperity of our city, not the seats, which is unfortunately the case with most other political entities," said Šaranović, adding that as a municipal committee they will continue to insist on projects that will change the image of the city, from the landža, a sports and recreational center, to our idea to build a cable car from Glava Zeta to the Ostrog Monastery.
URA Vice President Ana Novaković Đurović pointed out that while URA was leading the processes in the country, the two opposing blocs had a constant decline in trust among citizens, and that this was the best period of the country's development.
"URA is without a doubt the leader of civic politics in Montenegro and I am sure that it will soon be at the forefront of that process again. Both nationalism and populism are present in Montenegro, they are also present in other countries, this should not discourage us because these are trends, trends in politics pass but true values remain. I believe in us and our idea," said Novaković Đurović.
The newly elected vice president of the Danilovgrad URA, Dejan Vojvodić, said that URA is a party that does not deal with empty promises, but with the problems of the citizens and the state of Montenegro.
"We are a party that seeks to correct the injustice of transition, a party that has tried to increase child benefits, that has been fighting organized crime and corruption all the time, a party that does not want its young people to leave Montenegro, a party that wants them to stay and form their families in Montenegro. URA wants every person to feel that the state is there for them, that everything is subordinate to every citizen and that we do not divide citizens by religion, nationality, or political affiliation," said Vojvodić.
The elected vice president of the Danilovgrad URA, Miloš Popović, said that the URA, due to its principles and fight for a civil, ecological and just state, has been disrupting the game of two opposing political blocs for years and that it is therefore the subject of attack by all political entities, both the government and the opposition.
Member of the municipal board of the Danilovgrad Urban Development Agency, Jovanka Popović, said that the strength of their boards has always been in the people, their knowledge and energy, and never in the positions and chairs.
"We are not here to divide, but to bring together, we are not here to promise the impossible, but to build realistically and work in the interests of our city and all who live in it," said Popović.
The head of the URA parliamentary group, Miloš Konatar, pointed out that everything that URA is proposing now, it proposed while it was part of the government in 2021.
"The signatures of URE deputies were on the Bill that restored child allowances for all children, as well as compensation for workers who worked in the metal and mining industries. When you act with principle, it is always easy for you. Whoever is the URE deputy will continue with these proposals for child allowances, for the establishment of a state housing fund, the adoption of anti-mafia laws and for compensation for workers of companies that have gone bankrupt. And I am sure that people understand this, you are already meeting those who are disappointed in the promises of those who are now in power in Montenegro and I think that the best days for the URA Civic Movement are yet to come," concluded Konatar.
