Everyone who cares about the truth knows that Serbian nationalism, assisted by Croatian nationalism, killed Yugoslavia. The rest were just disgraced accomplices, like Montenegro, or victims and bystanders.
This was announced by the Civic Initiative on May 21st.
"The tragedy of the nineties, notable for the criminal Greater Serbian aggressions, continues today through neo-fascist patterns on the stage, at sporting events or through the routine chauvinism of prevailing Balkan politics and regime religious communities. Therefore, it is not surprising that in Serbia, Šešelj's apprentice is in power, that in Croatia the political majority is flirting with the Ustasha, or that in Montenegro a Chetnik sentimentalist presides over the Parliament, while one of the local Serbian metropolitans smuggles a monument to a war criminal and the president of the state posthumously honors a 'witness of God's love'," the civic initiative states in a statement.
They point out that there is no doubt that contemporary Montenegro loses its meaning if pro-European politics does not also include the marginalization of domestic neo-fascism.
"This means a resolute rejection and condemnation of the chauvinistic policies that stand behind the fan-hooligan chants of 'Kill the Turk' or 'Kill the Serb'. Without anti-fascism, Montenegro is a desolate land, just as football matches between ex-Yugoslav republics have both human and sporting support through the messages of Montenegrin fans," the statement concludes.
