The Ambassador of Montenegro to Slovakia, Stanica Andjic, presented her letters of credence to the President of that country, Petar Pelegrini, thus officially assuming the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to Slovakia.
"Following the ceremony, a brief conversation with the president was held, followed by separate meetings with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Marek Eštok and Director for Southeast Europe Boris Gandel," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Ambassador Andjic thanked the President of Slovakia for his country's continued support for Montenegro, especially in the context of European integration. She emphasized that she would dedicate her mandate to further developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and underlined the importance of maintaining a dynamic political dialogue and intensifying bilateral activities.
"President Pelegrini welcomed Ambassador Andjic, expressing his belief that her mandate will contribute to further improving relations between the two countries. He additionally emphasized Slovakia's continued support for Montenegro's European path, and praised the progress made so far," the statement reads.
In a conversation with State Secretary Eštok, the interlocutors agreed that reciprocal political consultations at the level of the ministries of foreign affairs would be held in Podgorica in the spring of 2026, which will "represent an important contribution to further deepening cooperation," the MFA said.
