Vice President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and representative of the European Union, Amina Cikotić, called on ministers from the Europe Now Movement (PES) to demand the dismissal of the Mayor of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš (New Serbian Democracy), because, as she said, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić clearly does not have the courage to do so.
Cikotić said that Vraneš's attack on journalist and director of the Center for Investigative Journalism of Montenegro Milka Tadić Mijović was "the result of political protection provided to him by PES and the Democrats."
"That's why this is their shame. Since Prime Minister Spajić is obviously afraid to demand Vraneš's dismissal, and nothing good can be expected from the Democrats, I call on the ministers from the ranks of the PES to react. I call on the respected ministers to clearly and publicly demand Vraneš's dismissal, because Spajić clearly does not have the courage to do so," she said.
If ministers Maida Gorčević, Naida Nišić, Anđela Jakšić Stojanović and Majda Adžović want to continue referring to European standards, it is time, as she said, to "stop serving as decor for the politics of primitivism and misogyny."
She said she believes that the ministers will "show that they are not figures" in their own party and government, but a serious political force that will know how to defend their own dignity, as well as the dignity of all women in Montenegro.
