Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić said that he is certain that Greece, when the time comes, will not only support Montenegro's entry into the European Union (EU), but will also strongly advise other member states to vote in favor of our country's admission.
Today, at the Villa "Gorica" in Podgorica, Mandić organized a gala lunch in honor of the President of Greece, Konstantinos Tassulas, who is on an official visit to Montenegro.
Mandić pointed out that Montenegro, both today and throughout history, views Greece as its most sincere friend and ally.
"He added that our country is on the verge of entering the European Union and that we remember and appreciate the support that Greece has continuously provided us, and that we are sure that when the time comes, that country will not only support our entry into the community, but also strongly advise other member states to vote for Montenegro's accession to the EU," the office of the head of parliament announced.
Tassulas said that Greece will always be a sincere friend of Montenegro.
"In this context, he added that Greece will assume the presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2027, at a time when Montenegro is expecting the final phase of the accession process, and that it will support the desire of our citizens to become the first member of the European Union at every level," the statement reads.
