After two and a half months and three failed attempts, the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly finally "broke" the political blockade today, as six Nova councilors, who had been boycotting the work of the local parliament since September 29, appeared in the hall.
The political blockade in Pljevlja lasted for two and a half months, as six councilors from the New Serbian Democracy did not attend the sessions of the local parliament, thus preventing a quorum from being reached and the work of the Assembly. The reasons for the boycott have not been announced to the public to this day.
However, it has been rumored in political circles for months that a part of Nova's councilors, close to the president of the Municipal Board Milan Lekić, have a long-standing, silent conflict with the mayor, otherwise his party colleague Dario Vraneš. The ruling majority in Pljevlja is made up of 23 councilors from seven parties: New Serbian Democracy, Democrats, Europe Now Movement, Movement for Pljevlja, DNP, SNP and United Montenegro.
Councilors are currently discussing the budget execution for the first six months of the current year.
