Former President of Montenegro and Honorary President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Milo Đukanović, said that the temporary closure of five negotiation chapters is a major step forward that brings Montenegro closer to achieving its key strategic goal - EU membership.
He announced on the social network X that he shares the satisfaction of the citizens of Montenegro, as well as state officials and all those who were directly engaged in fulfilling the criteria and contributed to today's provisional closure of five negotiation chapters.

"I welcome the renewed strategic decision-making of key European addresses in the enlargement policy, which is the key to European unification, stability and prosperity of Europe and the EU. I encourage all actors in Montenegrin society to do their utmost together, with full respect for the Constitution and laws and unconditional acceptance and implementation of the European system of values, so that Montenegro can become the 28th member of the European Union as soon as possible," said Đukanović.
